Meet Drew
Drew's Wanderlust Chronicles began as a personal way to document travel experiences and hold on to the stories and memories behind them. This blog is a growing collection of destinations explored, photographs taken, and reflections from the journey—shared for anyone planning their next adventure or simply dreaming of one. I hope to share a little bit of history as well so that we may learn about each other.
I hope seeing my travels in destinations, food, and photography reminds us to enjoy life, live to the fullest, and remember that the world is a big, beautiful place waiting to be discovered.

Stories told through the lens
Every photograph is a pause in the journey: a quiet street at sunrise, a sweeping view after a long walk, or a small detail that could not be left behind. Explore the visual side of Drew’s travels.
Photography has always been a passion of mine because it lets me capture moments, tell stories, and preserve memories that might otherwise fade. Through my camera lens, I see the world differently, finding beauty in everyday life, the people I meet, and the places I explore. For me, photography is more than taking pictures; it is about capturing emotions, experiences, and moments I can cherish for a lifetime.
My journey into photography began many years ago with my first camera, a Nikon N60—a film camera, of all things, back when digital photography had yet to become the norm. I spent countless hours learning everything I could about that camera, experimenting with shutter speeds, aperture settings, exposure, and the delicate balance of light. Every roll of film was a new adventure, and every photograph was an opportunity to learn something new. There was something magical about capturing a moment without knowing exactly how it would turn out until the film was developed. As my passion grew and my skills evolved, I eventually outgrew my beloved N60. Staying loyal to Nikon, I stepped into the digital age with my first digital camera, the Nikon D3000. It opened an entirely new world of creative possibilities, letting me experiment, make mistakes, and refine my craft in ways I never imagined. But as with any passion, the more I learned, the more I wanted to explore. Eventually, I outgrew the D3000, continuing my journey through new cameras, new techniques, and countless experiences behind the lens.

“I travel not simply to see new places, but to remember how beautiful the world can be.”
A note from the journey
A Tribute to Anthony Bourdain: The Inspiration Behind the Journey
Some people inspire us not through the things they teach us, but through the way they see the world. For me, Anthony Bourdain was one of those rare souls. He was more than a chef, a writer, or a world traveler. He was a storyteller, an adventurer, and a man who understood that the true beauty of travel wasn't found in luxurious hotels or famous landmarks, but in the people we meet, the stories we share, and the meals that bring us together.
Anthony Bourdain inspired me to look beyond the familiar, to wander down narrow streets, to sit in small cafés, to embrace unfamiliar cultures, and to appreciate the simple beauty of a meal shared with strangers. He taught me that food is more than nourishment; it is a universal language that connects people across borders, cultures, and generations. Through his adventures, I came to understand that the greatest experiences often happen when we put aside our expectations and simply allow the world to surprise us.
His curiosity, honesty, humor, and willingness to embrace the unknown helped shape the way I want to experience the world. He inspired me not just to travel, but to truly experience a place—to listen to its people, appreciate its history, savor its flavors, and capture its soul through my camera lens.
In many ways, this website and the stories I share are a small reflection of that inspiration. Every photograph, every culinary adventure, and every journey into an unfamiliar place is my way of celebrating the spirit of discovery that Anthony Bourdain so beautifully embodied.
To Anthony Bourdain—thank you for reminding me that the world is far too beautiful, too complicated, and too extraordinary to experience from the sidelines. Your journey may have ended, but the curiosity you awakened in so many of us continues to travel on.
This is my tribute to a man I never met, but whose passion for life, food, people, and the world inspired me to begin writing adventures of my own.
Rest easy, Chef. The journey continues.
